Local Food and Resources

Restaurants and food establishments with are those that follow Slow Food principles of good, clean and fair. They make an effort to source locally, get to know their purveyors and serve meat from animals that have been humanely treated. They work to reduce all types of waste and replace styrofoam and plastic from their waste streams. We hope that soon we’ll be able to highlight more of our favorite restaurants with the Slow Food snail of approval. Other restaurants on this list reflect our personal favorites as well as showcasing well made food and our island’s ethnic traditions, other aspects of Slow Food.

Along with the list of restaurants and food establishments, we provide additional information on food-related resources on O’ahu. This includes lists of catering resources, CSAs, farm work days, farmers’ markets, food specialty stores, and meat/butcher shops.

We constantly seek to update our website, particularly seeking to find establishments that merit the criteria. If you have a suggestion as to a resource that ought to be on our list, please email us at with your suggestions.
